Air Emissions: Commitments and Actions

We:

• Discontinued use of ODCs in the manufacture of any products.
• Achieved our ODP goal one year ahead (2006) of its target. At the end of 2007, we reduced our ODP from releases of ODCs by 83 percent against our baseline of 2002.
• Met our 2005 goal to phase out Class I ODCs in large HVAC and industrial process equipment, except for sites scheduled to close in early 2006 or those with production changes eliminating Class I equipment.
• Achieved the second phase-out of our ODC goal at the end of 2007, except for one facility given an extension by management based on business need.
• Finished phasing out all relevant units by early 2009.
• Achieved the VOC public goal two years early (2006). At the end of 2007, we reduced VOC emissions from air and water by 55 percent from baseline year 2002.
• Eliminated an alcohol from the manufacture of one product, reducing VOC emissions to air by approximately 40 tons per year based on expected volumes.
